If you google Lumion videos, you will likely come across some animations in which people appear to walk on the spot! Unless a weird moonwalk demo was the intention, it’s usually more natural for people to walk forwards! Getting people walking in Lumion is super-simple and this blog shows you how.
Animating any object requires you to go to the movie mode of Lumion and add the ‘move’ effect, which works on people as well as other objects like traffic.
You can get to movie mode by clicking on the icon highlighted by the red box in the lower right hand corner of the Lumion screenshot below.

Then you need to create a movie clip in the usual way. Then you click the effects button, highlighted in red in the screenshot below.

The tutorial below then shows you how to animate multiple people using the ‘mass move’ effect.

If you want to make one person walk in straight line, then simply choose the ‘move’ effect. If you would like your single person to walk a more complex route, then you can use the ‘advanced move’ option available in the same effects menu. All three options (’move’, ‘advanced move’ and ‘mass move’) are highlighted in red in the screenshot below.

All three ‘move’ effects can be used to animate people or other objects like traffic. Now there should be no excuse for letting your people do a weird moonwalk!
