Tip: Re-using your materials in different projects

As an Architect with a keen eye for detail, you will probably go to a lot of trouble to get the materials in your project looking just right. You will perhaps tweak them until they have just the right amount of relief, reflectivity and gloss.

Wouldn’t it be great if you could save those materials, with all their finely-tuned settings and use them on your next project?

Well, you can of course do that in Lumion and as you might expect … it’s easy. The short video below shows you how.

If you want to get really structured about it, you can save different kinds of materials for different kinds of project.

While we’re on the subject of workflow time savings, you can also save and load effects in Lumion. The combination of specific effects and precisely-tweaked materials can be a powerful combo and building the save/load mechanism, for both, into your workflow can spare valuable time in setting up scenes and renders.
