Post-processing renders in Lumion Cloud

A single view rarely gets used once. It goes into the presentation deck at 16:9, onto Instagram or LinkedIn as a square or portrait crop, into a planning document or competition board at whatever the submission requires, and onto the practice website as a wide hero image. Re-rendering each of those is time you don't have.

Crop handles the resizing, with preset aspect ratios and a lock control that holds proportions while you scale.

The same tools shape what the image is actually saying. Pull in on the entrance canopy, cut the empty foreground that pushes the building too far back, or straighten a horizon that reads as an accident rather than a choice. If a client keeps returning to one part of the design, you can create a tighter composition from the same render and put that detail at the center of the next conversation.

The same render can leave a completely different impression depending on how it's lit. An interior loses its detail in the shadows. A dusk exterior that looked warm on your monitor turns muddy on a meeting room projector. A daytime shot reads as oversaturated once it's printed.

The Adjust tools sort that out quickly. Lift the shadows, cool the temperature, pull back the saturation, sharpen the detail. Starting from a Lumion preset and fine-tuning from there is usually faster than building a look from the default settings, and once you land on something worth keeping, you can save it as your own preset.

A presentation is almost never a single image. It's a set, and when the views in that set don't match each other, the whole deck looks less considered than the design behind it.

Filters allow you to style one representative view first, save it as a preset or apply a LUT, then use that as the starting point for the rest. The intensity slider means a LUT doesn't have to go on at full strength, so the render underneath stays visible. Some views will still need small individual corrections, because their lighting and composition vary, but the look is already established.

Deciding what to present usually takes a few rounds. You try a tighter crop, a warmer version, a different LUT, and you want to see them next to each other before choosing.

• Saving an edit as a new Variation keeps that alternative under the current Version, which is what you want while you're still exploring.

• Saving as a new Version moves the project forward once a treatment is ready to become the next stage.

Either way, the image stays attached to its comments, markups, and approval history rather than scattering across desktops and shared drives.
