5 ways to reignite your Revit workflow with Lumion View
View your Revit model differently with these 5 easy tips

Revit, but not as you know it
We all know Lumion View’s been busy supercharging SketchUp workflows. But did you know it can also reignite your Revit workflow?
If Autodesk Revit’s your BIM software of choice, there are a few things you need to know to introduce real-time visualization, ray-traced views, and quick renders into your design process.
For a detailed look around the plugin, check out this guide to getting started with View for Revit. But for now, let’s run through 5 ways it can help you get the most out of Revit.
Try these tips in real time with a free Lumion View for Revit trial.
#1
Choose your view & navigate with ease
Navigating your model in Revit isn’t always the smoothest experience. To get a proper feel for it, you need to view your design from all angles, explore inside buildings, and move around it with ease.
Luckily, the Lumion View plugin lets you do all of that—seamlessly. Change direction with simple keyboard shortcuts, switch camera angles with hotkeys 1-9, and flip between perspective and orthographic views whenever you need.
It couldn’t be easier to get an immersive preview of your model—without needing to leave Revit.
#2
View materials & lights in a realistic display
Adding materials and artificial lights to your Revit model can give you a good idea of their placement and style—but with Lumion View, you can experience them as they truly appear.
Revit’s materials are enhanced with ray-traced lighting and reflections, and lights behave just as they would in the real world—casting accurate shadows and realistic highlights that give you a deeper understanding of your design.
#3
Assess the impact of the sun & sky
With Lumion View’s in-built sun study tools, you can easily see how light and shadows impact your design as the day or season shifts.
Just open the Environment tab and move the Time and Month sliders to watch the lighting transform before your eyes. You can even tweak the sun brightness and sky cloudiness to get the exact look you want.
#4
Create quick conceptual diagrams
Preset conceptual styles let your design speak for itself—without the distraction of detailed materials or lighting. The Visual styles tab in Lumion View offers an easy way of generating clean, conceptual visuals right inside Revit—simply choose from Clay, Wood, Styrofoam, or Glossy, then customize the edges and background color to suit your presentation.
These simple diagrams can be rendered instantly and used to showcase your design to your team or clients at any stage of the creative process.
#5
Render, share, & collaborate in seconds
Render out your images in up to 4K resolution whenever you need. In the Render to file tab, you can choose your resolution and aspect ratio, then render to file or copy to clipboard.
Another way to quickly share your renders is using the Upload to Lumion Cloud button. You can then open Lumion Cloud in your browser, and streamline design conversations with your team and clients. Comment, draw, compare—and ensure every iteration is visible in real time.
